Driver Announcement - Marlo Cordell
We are happy to announce Marlo Cordell will be continuing his journey with us for the 2023 season, taking the leap from the Airtec Motorsport BRSCC Fiesta Championship to MINI CHALLENGE JCW.
Marlo joined the team halfway through the 2021 season in a mk6 fiesta, which was his debut in car racing. He then progressed into a newly built ST240 for the 2022 season where he finished 8th in the championship.
For 2023 Marlo will be stepping up into MINI CHALLENGE and we believe this is the correct jump in order to further Marlo’s motorsport career. Marlo has been testing regularly throughout the winter, working closely with previous MINI CHALLENGE champion Ant Whorton-Eales, who will work with Marlo for the entire season. Marlo is very focused and determined and puts a lot of effort into not only his driving but his fitness and nutrition also and we’re really excited to see what we can achieve together this season.
I’m excited to announce that I will be continuing my racing career with Jamsport Racing, I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds in a championship where Jamsport have previously found a lot of success. Working alongside Ant again, I'm sure will give me the best chances in the 2023 season of the MINI CHALLENGE."
Marlo is looking forward to this new venture and said - “I’m excited to announce that I will be continuing my racing career with Jamsport Racing, I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds in a championship where Jamsport have previously found a lot of success. Team principal Jamie Going added “Marlo came to us with very minimal experience and completed his first full season in 2022. We decided to make Marlo our development driver last year. By doing this, he gained lots of invaluable skills and experience by being in and around not only our fiesta team but our TCR team also. He’s gone from strength to strength and I’m very proud of what Marlo has achieved and look forward to the season ahead.”
