Driver Announcement - Olly Turner
We’re proud to announce that Olly Turner will be returning to the team for the 2023 season, competing in the Airtec Motorsport Fiesta Championship.
Olly’s motorsport journey began within the world of oval racing, however it wasn’t long before he discovered ourselves and our Fiesta Junior team, where he made his debut in 2017. He then went on to win the championship with us in 2019. Olly stepped up to compete in the senior division for 2020, where he finished 3rd overall. He then progressed onto the Volkswagen Cup and again, finished third in the championship. Since then Olly has had podium finishes in several sports car racing events.
We believe Olly returning to Fiesta racing with ourselves is the correct move for his motorsport career and we look forward to working with him again for hopefully a very successful season ahead. He will be working closely with team mate Archie Johnson and it’ll be nice for Olly to pass on all the knowledge that he’s previously learnt from us to Archie. We’re confident that the pair will work really well together and look forward to getting started.
Team Principal Jamie Going is honoured to have Olly back in the team and said “It’s great to have Olly back in the family, he’s has been part of our team for a long time now. Him and his family would attend the junior races for 2 seasons prior to him actually being old enough to race, so it’s really exciting to have him back in the team, competing in the 240s.”
Olly added ”I’m buzzing to be back with Jamsport Racing. Our previous years together have always been successful, I can’t wait to finish what we started in fiestas, but also hit the ground running with our ability to work so well together, ultimately aiming for that top step like we always do. I would not of been able to achieve everything I have without the help from Jamsport, giving me the foundations to be a competent driver… hence why I’m back to continue our success”
“2022 was possibly one of the hardest years I’ve had as person. I lost friends, family and the racing side of things didn’t go to plan. So this year I want to make a bold statement with my ability and win for those that I’ve lost, but most importantly make it a year to remember. I’ve never been so hungry to go testing, get stuck in and win races, I can’t wait for this season to start”
