Our 2025 Scholarship

The 2025 scholarship programme began in January with 50 drivers competing at Blyton Park. Stage 1 provided an opportunity for participants to showcase their skills across a variety of disciplines. The activities included driving the ST150 Fiestas, sim racing sessions, general knowledge tests, media training, and fitness assessments. The focus of the fitness tests at this stage was on cardio and reaction times, helping to assess the drivers' overall physical preparedness for racing.

Following Stage 1, the competition moved on to Stage 2, held at Bedford, where the field was reduced to 30 drivers. This stage continued with driving sessions in the ST150 Fiestas, alongside more advanced simulator sessions. Drivers were also asked to participate in a content creation task, designed to test their ability to engage on social media, while interviews provided further insight into their media skills. The fitness assessments at this stage focused on core strengthand interval training. In addition, data analysis was introduced, giving drivers the chance to work with race data and better understand how to optimise performance on track.

Stage 3, the final stage of the scholarship, took place back at Bedford with 15 drivers remaining in the competition. The focus was on testing the drivers with the more powerful ST240 Fiestas. As in previous stages, drivers took part in simulator sessions, but this time there was also a fastest lap competition to determine the top performers. Fitness assessments were focused on reaction times and upper body strength to ensure that drivers were prepared for the physical demands of racing. The social media workshop was also more advanced, allowing the drivers to refine their media skills further. Additionally, drivers worked with more in-depth data analysis, using their own onboard data from the day to identify areas for improvement and fine-tune their driving.

At 3pm, the field was narrowed down to the top six drivers, who then competed in a short shootout. This in-car shootout was designed to test the drivers' abilities in a quick, pressure-filled environment, and from there, the final top three drivers were selected.

After careful consideration and evaluation, the winners were announced:

🥇 1st – Nicky Gauci
🥈 2nd – Dan Robinson
🥉 3rd – Wesley Swain

These three drivers demonstrated excellent performance across all areas of the scholarship process, earning their places on the podium.

We also want to congratulate Luke Bennett, winner of the Fastest Lap Time Sim Racing Competition. Luke’s prize is a 1-to-1 development day with Jamsport, where he will receive focused coaching and support to help him improve further.

The scholarship programme this year was a thorough and well-rounded evaluation, testing each driver’s abilities in driving, fitness, media, data analysis and their general motorsport knowledge. We are excited to see the next steps for the winners as they embark on their racing careers, and we look forward to continuing to support all of the finalists as they move forward in their motorsport careers.

A huge thank you to all the participants, coaches, and staff who made this year’s scholarship possible. We are already planning for next year’s programme, and we look forward to sharing more details soon.

In the meantime, be sure to check out our gallery with lots of photos from the event, capturing all the action and behind-the-scenes moments from this year’s scholarship.
